My love for creating art began as a child and I have been obsessively honing my skills ever since. Capturing the character and emotion of my subjects has always been key. I am a professional self-taught artist specializing in hand-drawn graphite and charcoal portraits. I really enjoy working in all mediums - particularly watercolour and acrylics - to express my interpretation of my subjects. Private collectors hold my artwork throughout Canada and the United States.
Transforming an empty piece of paper into a captivating expression is a magical process because it’s about rendering the character and essence of my subject not merely creating a likeness. Though I work quite deliberately, consciously employing traditional and non-traditional techniques, my subconscious is the undisputed leader in the process.
Portraiture fills me with a sense of completion and contentment and has proven a most natural vehicle for translating my inner vision to reality. As an artist, it is very fulfilling - the greatest satisfaction - to know that my drawing or painting can become a treasured family heirloom in someone’s life.
