Baby's 1st Birthday Portrait

Started on my next portrait for a babies one year birthday. He is younger in the reference photo, this one is going to be fun as he is just so cute! I did the grid drawing twice as the initial print that I used was not the best quality. It was well worth the effort to redo it as the likeness is much better when you can see what you are drawing!

Wedding Portrait Completed for Karen & Mike

After about 40 hours, I tend to loose track, I think the wedding portrait of Karen and Mike is finally done! I will leave it for a bit and come back to it and see if anything jumps out at me that needs to be fixed. If not, I just need to clean it up and deliver it, hope they like it!

Baby birthday portrait commission

Next commision piece is of a baby, totally cute! The commission is for a 1st birthday gift I can hardly wait to start this one as he is so cute he will be fun to draw!

Wedding Portrait - WIP #7

The portrait is nearly complete now. I have let it sit for a bit to get a bit of distance from it. I find it helps give me a better perspective as when I am drawing I tend to get to absorbed into the details. After letting is sit I see that I need to made a few adjustments to Karen's eyes and Mike's mouth. I need to also darken Mike's left eyebrow and the sides of his hair. Karen's neck is lacking depth so I need to also push the dark's and lights a little further even though I can't really see her neck in the reference photo. Mike's shirt needs a bit of shading and I may try to get his jacket a little darker. I will then let it sit a bit more and see if anything else jumps out at me ;-)
