My portfolio consists of highly realistic interpretations of the model. Although I focus on realism, my goal is not to imitate the reference material used but to obtain a truthful and accurate depiction of the subject. A strong likeness happens naturally during the drawing process. My portfolio mainly consists of custom commission graphite & charcoal and watercolor portraits drawn from my client's family photos of a favorite pet, baby, child or wedding portrait.

It was freezing cold but we all had a blast at Lion's Park for Mother's Day in the Park. The kids did a great job painting with Jack Prasad, I think Jack inspired more than a few budding artists with his cool tips & tricks.
Of course I had to bring my mom being mothers day and all! She is also an artist and had a blast visiting with everyone and painting with the kids.Labels: exhibits

My client decided to add a couple additions to the portrait to make the portrait more personalized for her friend. She added the cross to the mother's lapel as they have a very strong faith and she wanted to emphasize this in the portrait. After many attempts to try to add the cross in without drawing too much attention, we decided to place it on his mother's lapel...the obvious choice in the end! Funny how things just find their place :)Labels: cat portrait, drawing, family portrait, personalized
